Verona, Italy ---> Stresa, Italy

So, where is this magical place where there is reliable wifi? Where both videos and photos can be uploaded? A free day from tour obligations? A place to actually do laundry (well... a place other than a sink/bathtub)? Beautiful Stresa, Italy.

This is a very proper, luxurious resort town along the shore of Lago (Lake) Maggiore. It has stunning lake views, mountain views, palm trees, beaches, flora, islands, you name it. It is a very popular summer destination for many people from the UK--you hear English spoken here more than any other tour stop to this point. Here are a few photos to hopefully give you a feel for Stresa: (1) our hotel, the Regina Palace. This is probably the nicest hotel we've stayed in from an aesthetic viewpoint, although the rooms are small, and some of the tour members have favored larger rooms that are more utilitarian than beautiful; (2) a panoramic view of the shoreline of Lake Maggiore. The Regina Palace is the building with three towers on the left hand side; (3) a poster for the Stresa SOA concert, hanging in the local laundromat; (4) some of the gorgeous flowers on the path along the shore, with palm trees blurry in the background; (5) an evening view from the front step to our hotel, looking back up the shoreline; and (6) Isola Bella, an island that is the site of the Borromeo Palace and its amazing gardens. Jacob travelled here, and can tell you all about it when he returns!
